Tow mirrors plug and play without telescope?

I want to add factory tow mirrors to my 23 Platinum. I don’t really need the telescoping feature but want everything else. Are these plug and play without any forescan mods and which ones do I need?

A Lariat 502A has memory and I dont believe memory mirror is avialable on Tow mirrors. You can disable that in the DDM and PDM. Not a requirement I guess but youd have DTCs if you dont.

I had a 502 A Lariat and yes. I was able to install them and everything worked but telescoping. The Chrome capped ones come with the trim piece and button for telescoping. For that feature to work all you would need to do is go to the dealership and have them programmed.

There's 4 tow mirror sets. The 800$ ones don't have the same functionality as the $1500 ones (if buying new). Be sure to at least get the cameras else you lose them.

You can do this yourself in FORScan as I just figured this out with help from antho in the FORScan thread. In the PDM and DDM modules, change "Telescopic Mirrors" to Enabled in each module.

Yes I did. When installing the tow mirrors, everything was an even swap in terms of functionality to my old mirrors. Other than the telescoping feature. Installed the switch with the correct trim piece and it did not work. With the help of antho, we figured out changing those two options worked for both mirrors. I originally just changed the DDM item but it would only move the Drivers side and not the Passenger. PDM change in addition to DDM allowed for both to operate normally.

Yes. When I lifted the window switch bezel piece up, underneath, the telescoping harness was dummy plugged to the bottom of the bezel piece. So it was easy to just remove the window switch from my old door trim piece and install onto the new door trim piece and install the telescoping switch as well.

I upgraded mine, which were manual fold/manual telescoping only. There's 2 plugs to remove.

The black plug on top has a tab you push down to pull it out. I recommend not trying to use any kind of tool for this, as the tab breaks easily.

To remove the brown and white plug (which I believe is for the camera), ignore the white plastic pieces. Instead, flip it upside down and push the narrow tab inside the outer plastic rails.
