Hello all. We went to Yellowstone, drove about 900 miles round trip. On the way there we got between one fourth to one third of our miles in electric. On the way home, once on the freeway, only a few percentages. I thought I'd broken it. Thinking about it though, I realized I didn't give the battery any recharge time. I just put it on cruise. Anyway, we have a little more than a thousand miles on the truck, with an average of 30 mpg. I'll try the braking/coasting trick in the future.

You are still using the battery and electric motor "on the freeway" even if you don't get any pure electric miles.
I don't think it had anything to do with you didn't charge it. You charged it. :)
It charges FAST because it's pretty small by Hybrid standards. Really really small. Maybe the smallest there is?
