Hi Folks

I've been planning on ordering a powerboost supercrew Lairat sport with a 6.5 bed for a while. Today was the first time I got in a test drive a PB and I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. While I'm primarily purchasing this rig for work utility, towing, Pro power On Board, etc. I was expecting the driving dynamics and acceleration to be pretty stelar and to be honest it felt almost a bit doggy compared to my tuned 18' 2.7 screw Lariat. I'm sure the powerboost is most likley quicker than my truck and certainly smoother, but was curious if there is anyway to increase throttle response or if anyone has gone from a tuned truck to the PB and has a thought. Not a dealbreaker I suppose, but I guess it just didn't blow my hair back the way my 2.7 Lariat does.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Cheers.

You can get a pedal commander to adjust the throttle response. I personally didn't like it, but I test drove someone else's basically you can get Sport model level throttle response without the motor kicking in as soon as you release the brakes. It makes the truck feel extra preppy because the pedal lighter and more responsive.

Sport mode is great, but you will sacrifice the MPG benefit of electric driving. Can the tuned-up 2.7 Ecoboost can achieve 24MPG?

I find it difficult to get better then 20 when using Sport mode

The tuned 2.7 does pretty well mpg wise considering how I drive it. I'm averaging 19 in sport mode with the tune, though if I get after it on the local mountain passes its down to like 14-15. If I put it in eco mode around my parts I can get 24 fairly easy. If anything the tune improved mpg.

And thanks for the reply's. It sounds like the pedal commander makes a big change.

Did you have the truck in sport mode when you test drove it? In normal or eco, I could see it being slower than expected given reviews, but mine is no slouch in sport mode. It is very smooth at accelerating though, so that could also play into it as there is a difference between feeling fast and actually going fast.
