Bet it’s some type of camera or sensor for trailer blind spots. It is a bit unsightly though isn’t it?
That's the camera for the full 360* system. It's going to assist with hands free driving, trailer back up, etc. You won't even notice it while you're driving, but you'll be glad that it's there when you need it.

Oh, I agree, it won't deter me, I'm all about better and improved.

I see it on the standard mirror also, it is just larger and different form previous models. I had heard of better camera's for this MY but this caught me off guard a bit. I have the 360 option but not the self driving prep kit.

I cannot find any reference to a black or body color cap on the tow mirrors. There is only one part number, which is the chrome cap. I imagine that isn’t or won’t be the case long term, but as of now it may be chrome or they might come with black and chrome and be inter-changeable?. Would be terrible on the sport package.

Have there been any updates to the pricing guide?
The build and price picture for a sport shows black mirrors and no chrome. Not sure if that is accurate but I sure hope it’s not chrome on a black sport!

I think the way they installed the 360 Degree camera on these tow mirrors, as opposed to where they put them on the standard mirrors, may allow us to get the same Projected Overhead View of the truck even when the mirrors are folded in to clear an obstacle, because the camera will not move. I'm not sure if the cameras being so far outboard on the regular mirrors will give the same overhead view when they are folded in?
