OK, vent time I guess. We all know what’s happening in the microchip world. We all know how wonderful Ford has handled this challenge (I just threw up in my mouth) ?. Personally, my truck has been on order since early March. I have a 4/27 blend date. Seriously, I’ve seen no indication my truck will be delivered until the Sept-Oct timeframe. Some of you poor bastards been waiting since November of 20??? Here is my question. Why would or why should I even take possession of my 21 in the fall when in Sept I can just order the exact same truck in the 22 yr model? My dealer, being the good guy he is, told me last month he wasn’t honoring our drive out price we agreed to when I ordered. Yes, like a dumb ass I didn’t sign a contract. I’ve ordered 5 vehicles b4 and only signed 1 contract but it’s a moot point now. Now, the price of the 21 is window and when it arrives it will be 1 yr old model. I can’t believe I’m even asking this but why would I accept this truck? Whew!

I'm in the same boat Ordered 02/06 and Prod week 04/19 and my take is this: Basically I'm buying day old bread at the grocery store. There it is usually discounted to make room for the 'new'. No different here. When the time comes, look at the 'value' of your order when comparing it to a new truck whether a Ford or otherwise. I'm thinking the new Toyota may give Ford a run for it's money. My guess is that the logistics supply chain will catch up and dealers will end up with more 21's and 22's than they can handle. We probably will be 'offered' ours in September and October - right before the 22's and with no incentives. They'll see who is going to bite. A month or two later I'm guessing some 'light' discounts will appear. If no one bites on the 21's or their 21 Ordered trucks are just sitting there by Christmas those discounts will be marketed heavily to the general public. I'm also a true to my word kind of guy and would consider purchasing a Vehicle elsewhere - what your dealer is doing suggests he is only interested in the business of selling cars, reputation is not on his radar and he may very well sell the truck out from under you because someone walked in with $$$. It's happened here to folks in this forum already. I've ordered mine a two days drive from home from Granger Ford who stated their price at the time of order and have not changed my costs. I do however as others with Granger have a contract. They are still offering the same deal when ordering from them at this time, which I feel speaks volumes for them and the reputation they are building.
