Apologies if this had been covered elsewhere. I couldn't find it.

I have 2022 F150 XLT (loaded Options since I couldn't get a Lariat with 6.5' bed) 3.5EB Crewcab FX4. It has the large screen SYNC3 with several integrated controls (trailer brakes, cameras, lane monitoring, etc)

I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. My SYNC3 with periodically enter Settings Mode, for no apperent reason for a few seconds and then return to the prevous media and navigation.

I normally drive with my Samsung phone connected via a USB-C cable to the console USB-C plug, for charging. I usualy run ANDROID AUTO for navigation and some music, although I will also listen to Satelitte radio or FM radio, and sometimes not be using the ANDROID AUTO screen at all. Sometimes its a short trip and I'm not plugged in at all, or listening to any media. My point it, this happen in different media and navigation modes, including off.

For some reason the SYNC3 will sometimes randomly switch over to the settings screen, stopping all music and naviation and environmental controls. This will last from 1 to 4 seconds, and then return to whatever the previous music and nav source was, and then the a/c fans will resume. I'd say this happen every couple weeks, at different times in the drive. Within a few minutes of start, or 3 hours into a longer drive.

It not the end of the world, but its annoying. Is this just the joys of driving a rolling computer? Or should I take it back to my FORD dealer ...... again..... for what appears to be the ritualistic reprograming of some computer control module. ever 6-9 months.

The 14th gen F150's all have Sync4.

I've had similar issues with CarPlay. Sounds like a glitchy usb cable causing the system to flip into and out of Android Auto. Try a different or higher quality cable and make sure the usbc port on the phone is clear of debris. If that doesn't fix it try resetting the sync4 link with Android Auto and use wireless to connect and then plug it in after it syncs up. That way it charges but isn't relying on the cable connection.
