Sync all messed up after update

after my most recent sync update my system is fucked. When i put the truck in reverse after driving for a while the screen freezes, and the speakers make an static noise. Also, sometimes when i receive notifications on my phone my sync screen will freeze and I will have to report. My truck has become and AWFUL road trip car. Anyone else experiencing this with recent sync updates?

I have the same problem with audio static while using android auto and my backup camera freezing when I shift into reverse. I first noticed the issue after getting OTA update 4.2.3 on May 9th. I got 4.2.2 on May 5th and it's possible that the issue could have started then, but I'm pretty sure it started after 4.2.3

Currently I'm just waiting to see if any new APIM software updates come out in the hopes that Ford will have identified and fixed the issues they created, but I won't hold my breath given Ford's recent track record of creating more problems than they solve.

For me this specific issue started as we were planning a trip to Michigan and at this point I refuse to take my truck because of how annoying and loud the static is. I'm also not happy with how loose my wiper arms are on the wiper transmission even after being replaced. It seems like they could strip out fairly easily and I don't need that happening on my 20hr round trip drive to Michigan.

Having the exact same problem. I have check updates with FDRS, reset the console, uninstall FordPass install it again and nothing yet. The problem persist,m. Not sure if there’s a fix but it’s pretty common and happened with the latest updates.

The NTHSA just contacted me to further investigate the complaint I filed in relation to this issue. The backup camera not functioning correctly is a safety concern in their eyes and it looks like they may be getting enough complaints to start looking into this issue more seriously. I would highly encourage anyone experiencing this issues with thier backup camera or center display to file a complaint with the NTHSA so we can get Ford to address our complaints and issue a TSB or recall for the repair.

The thread is several months old and it's unlikely every contributor is on the same exact version.

But it's possible, I guess.
I haven't been doing a great job of tracking which Sync versions I've had since this issue started for me in May of 2023. I know it started with Sync version 23031 Rev. 713, and updating to SYNC version 23167 Rev. 926 didn't fix anything.

Older versions of sync were less buggy using dark mode full time. I never saw bugs others were getting by doing that. Can't hurt to try if you are on older versions.

Using night/dark mode has been much better for me ever since updating to SYNC version 23167 Rev. 926. Unfortunately, the screen becomes difficult to read in direct sunlight so I view using dark mode as the lesser or the two evils and not a real solution to the problem Ford created.
