Swapping OEM power running boards for AMP boards?

Has anybody done this? If so, is it pretty straightforward? 23 platinum with factory power running boards. Would like to swap them for Amp boards due to them dropping lower.

Just go find some take off super duty power running boards if lower is what you're after, plug and play. That's what I have they go lower and are the exact same spec as the AMP boards if I'm correct. If you want something in the middle, find some 15-20 F150 power boards as they go lower than the 21+'s, but not low as the super duty boards.

Yes.
The only difference is the kick switch

Yup, that is what I have on mine essentially. Any newer aluminum cab styles boards will work across the board, so 15-20 F150 and 17+ Super Duty boards as they haven't changed.

My concern is the plug and play part. Are all 2015+ OEM boards the same wiring and plugs? Want to make sure I get something that works especially if I’m ordering off eBay or 2nd hand etc

Interesting. How much lower with SD running boards? My Dad has a SD running boards and they don’t look much lower than mine...

Ahh. I wondered what the issue was. Is your truck lifted? My buddy has the factory power boards and I thought they come out at a really good level but he is at stock height.

Yes with 35’s. The older version deployed lower which was much more comfortable stepping on and for others as well.
