One thing I would point out in this converstion is that there is a huge difference between fuel mileage between a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 Whipple. Those larger injectors "help" the engine to use more fuel even when you are not in the boost. If you care about fuel mileage, the Stage 2 is not for you. My mileage is worst around town where I am stop and go and rarely above 40mph, I get around 14 mpg on 93 octane. At 55-60 mph, I get closer to 17.5 mph. Above that speed, I see closer to 15.5 mpg. This is all assuming I manage to stay out of the heavy boost.

I live in a colder area, so I use remote start often, or at least I used to. I noticed a huge change in consumption at idle after I did the install. I attribute this to the tune and the larger injectors. This thing drinks the premium at idle. I have reduce my remote start run time to 10min to avoid wasting fuel for no reason. (I just need the engine and seats warm.)

I am runing the Whipple tune. I previously owned an F150 Limited 3.5L HO with the Livernois tune. I plan to try Livernois' tune for the Whipple trucks this spring. The transmission improvements alone should be worth it. Livernois does not increase the power output, but the changes to the transmission are needed, in my opinion. I have driven well over 8000 miles on the Whipple tune and I can tell you the transmission shifting needs improvement on the Whipple tune. I miss the Livernois tune.

Interesting about the spark plugs. Why? To prevent possible misfires from foul up?
