Anyone else who has a twin panel been having any issues with a huge rattle when shutting the door?

I noticed this morning when shutting the door (its cold out. low to mid 20's) but when shutting the door, loud rattle from the twin panel. in between the two panes is a plastic piece. I'm not sure its broken or not but it seems super loose and flimsy. when i push on it and shut the door it stops.

Anyone else have this issue? is this normal?

THanks!

Hi there. This sunroof concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I’m noticing the same issue recently when it’s cold out. The plastic piece in the middle does seem to move a bit. Let me know what you find out.

Same issue - no correlation to cold as several others have mentioned. I don't suspect anything is broken, just the retractable headliner slapping up against the glass. A fix though...subscribed

Mine was rattling when I closed the doors or went over certain bumps. I tracked it down to the piece that covers the seam between the two panels. It's plastic and held against the windows with spring clips on either side of the truck - the center has quite a bit of flex and caused my rattle. I pulled it down against the clips and there was foam tape that had become compressed. I ended up buying some weatherstripping and ran it along the back of the plastic divider. So far, so good - I haven't noticed the rattle since (but I only did it this past weekend so I don't know how it'll hold up long-term). It may be worth a shot for a few bucks worth of weatherstripping.

Think you can post few pics on the locations where you put the weatherstripping?

The arrow is pointing to the piece right above the spring clip.

I just pulled it down and put some weather stripping along the entire length on the rear side (as that was the part making contact above)

I have this same issue as well as clunking while going over small bumps or even turning. I know it’s the sunroof because if I have it either open or tilted it all goes away. Already took it to my dealer once and nothing changed. Really frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated.

Mine has a bit of noise if it has ice and snow on it… quick trip to the car wash fixes it up

Noticed this today. Not sure if there’s something there that’s been warped so now it rattles but it’s brutally annoying. I’ll try the piece of weatherstripping

That any idea what that function is of that piece I have the same issue on my way to get weatherstripping right now. I do it with a small piece of cotton and it absolutely fixed it. I’m just curious what the actual functionality of that piece is.

Just noticed this this week with the recent cold. I will be grabbing some weather striping to give it a shot.
