If anyone is considering installing Sumo Springs looks like you can save some money

I was looking at the part number for 2021/22 SSR-146-40 ($420), then looked at previous years F150 part number SSR-117-40 ($272 Amazon) and looks almost identical, specs are very close/the same, reviewed the installation notes on both basically the same other than the mounting bracket was 2 pieces on the new mode year.

So I gave the SSR - 117-40's a try, they installed fine, lined up with the axles, for my rig I chose to leave the 1" spacer off so I had about 1/2" of space/travel before the Sumo's are contacted/engaged.

I had considered Sumo but couldn’t find any in stock so ended up installing Timbren. would recommend.

Yes have heard a lot of good about the Timbren as well, especially for heavy hauling/towing. I was just looking to control squat when level my truck and do load it up with some overland/camping supplies etc.

Both are band-aid approaches that only serve to limit suspension travel and do nothing to address the real problem by increasing payload capacity. For that SuperSprings are usually the best option although with the F-150 truck and the heavy payload package Ford adds a third leaf spring at a cost of $1,500.

Sumo Springs have a 2-year warranty but SuperSprings will outlast the truck.

I purchased sumosprings and began the install. I found there was less than a fingers width of space between the sumospring and an electrical connector. Has anyone installed these? I fear it's going to have movement and damage the electrical connector.

They are not a band aid unless you are exceeeding the trucks limits. if you are looking for more stability when hauling within the limits of the truck, you will see a improvemnt for sure. I used Sumosprings on my Winnebago Travato a 3/4 ton Dodge Promaster chasis and the Sumosprings made a very noticible impovfement in stability in cornering lean, side wind and load comfort. YMMV.
