If I have my Sync4 split screen with Ford NAV/FM Radio on truck startup, I’m finding my system always switches over to Spotify when ApplePlay connects. Can I stop ApplePlay taking over?

If using wired Carplay, other than disabling the Carplay auto connect in the phone settings, no. It will launch as soon as you connect the phone to the truck. If you use wireless Carplay you can disable that and leave it on wired and don't use the front console usb's to charge the phone when you don't want Carplay to launch. I disabled wireless Carplay on mine so it will only be active when I want it to be.

On a separate note, even if Carplay launches you can simply press the Home button the the infotainment screen to flip back to Sync. To prevent Spotify from starting up as well just make sure it wasn't the last audio app running when Carplay launches. If it's not then it should default to "Now Playing" instead.
