Hey everyone,

I’ve got a 2023 F-150 PowerBoost with the 8-speaker B&O system, and honestly, coming from a 2016 GTI with the Fender setup, the B&O just feels pretty underwhelming. So down the rabbit hole I go…

I already picked up a NavTV, but I’m still not sure which direction to go next. My plan is to keep all the factory channels, run everything through a DSP/amp, and power all the stock speaker locations (which I’ll be replacing) along with a sub.

With that in mind, I’m looking for examples of successful audio upgrades done this way. I’m also a bit concerned about exceeding the 30A draw limit on the PowerBoost, so any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking 30 amp limit without running new power?

there are tons of options for speaker replacement, I went full stealth except the tweets that I flush mounted instead of recess mounting behind the factory grill. Tweets are black without a logo so they look close enough to OEM if you didn’t know the difference.

Three pieces of advice from my build 1) the tweets come from the head unit, not rear amp, so you may need to run new wire for them. 2) you can buy the unleashed defrost ‘grille’ and speaker adapters(MTI or SGS) to put mids in the dash corners to get three way active front(eliminate center channel for better staging). 3) I went behind the seat single 10 at first, ended up with an under the seat dual 12. The 10 was good, but depending on what you want you may find that you will change that part of the system, it is the only part that I have changed(besides putting a disconnect on the positive inside the truck on the amp rack for convenience)

I’m happy to walk through everything I did if you want the detail.

Installing proper Sound deadening along with door block off plates will make the most of the factory amplifier power or any amplifier for that material. ResoNix Sound Solutions is the best on the market.

Thanks for the reply! Did you replace the B&O AMP or just the speakers?

I overhauled everything

DSP/Amps
mObridge Entry A2B converter
Helix P Six Ultimate powering front stage and doing all DSP
Infinity small amp doing rear fill(not using currently)
Helix M One X for sub
SGS behind the seat and under the seat amp rack

Speakers
Karma Aspect 6X9, 3, 1 three way active front stage
new wire run for 3 and 1 from the rear
Karma Aspect 6(non coaxial) rear fill(not using currently)
2X Hertz MPS300 S4(MTI stage 2 under seat box)

Deadening(to reinforce @JCsTruck point)
Butyl rope(full coverage on crash bar, had to trim adhesive foam), Resonix CLD, Guardian, fiber mat with about as much coverage as possible on outer skin, inner skin, door card. Basically just followed Nick's tutorials. Also did CLD and mat is the A, B, and C pillars. CLD on the back wall. Fiber mat under the 3's I put in the dash. SGS block off plates.

Probably forgetting a couple things, but happy to answer any other questions you have.
