I'm sure it felt like 3 seconds.
But untuned, it's gotta be just north of 5.
But it's a fast 5. :)
its also a HANDFUL when you ramp up rpm to 2k and let off the brake, she wants to go, and my old arsse was watching out the front, the dash and holding on ?

I read everywhere that if your in sport mode the truck will hit every gear. Well mine still skips going up and down. Anyone else experiencing this? Should I contact dealer?
Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Maybe I just drive with too heavy of a foot, but my 5.0 definitely uses 2nd more often than not and I always drive in normal mode lol. It definitely skips if I’m light on the throttle but most of the time unless I’m putting around neighborhoods I’m not light enough on it for it to skip.

Mine only skips 2nd when taking off slow (like in a neighborhood or parking lot) which surprises me as I'm a conservative driver. I really like the skip and all other aspects of how and when my truck shifts. I don't believe I've ever seen 8th gear at 35, and I only use the normal mode. Everything is 100% stock, even the 17" tires, and will remain that way. I have to wonder if installing oversize wheels/tires (or other changes) messes with the shift points.

I used the manual button today. From a stop I switched to M2. Light turned green and it held electric longer than normal and at 2300ish pushed the M button again and it smoothly shifted to D3 and so on.
So, I pushed the M button then + button and then M button again to go back to D.

Easier than it sounds actually if the quick shift is irritating you.

That’s how mine started! I am on my third transmission in my 2022 F-150 XLT Supercrew. 48,700 miles. Mine was in the shop several times because the dealer said it was normal. I called Ford and they told me to take it to a different dealer. I did and they were able to reenact the problem. I now have the factory and two other transmissions. Last week back in the shop for driveshaft issues. Apparently the second dealership didn’t grease the driveshaft before installing it. They had to pull it and grease. It was making a load noise during take off.

Shifting from 1st to 3rd and skipping 2nd gear is normal, even in sport mode. On my 3.5EB, if the accelerator pedal position is 17.5% or higher in sport mode, you will not skip 2nd gear, below that value you will. In the normal drive mode, the cutoff is 20%.
Dad would routinely skip 2nd gear in his 97 Dakota. I think it got too used to the boys at work trying to pass his "old beat up $1000 truck". Had that Magnum V6 and he's just put the pedal to the floor power shifting without the clutch.

My truck will routinely use 2nd gear accelerating from a stop sign.

Reset the ECU and see whether it improves.
