Utah Shifter Recess Phone Mount

Ok here is a media dump. Lighting was not great, but you get the idea. Cable routing was relatively easy (ran it to the center console) and it's working well. I will post some higher quality photos once I have the print mocked up with the new material. You can see the one pictured got beat up a bit and has some scuffs which is a no go. I want the highest quality possible.

A couple things to note, this version does not have a clocking magnet for the MagSafe outside of the ring (final product would unless you just can't wait to get one)

the spacing is less pretty, but having the mount further back in the recess allows for absent minded usage of the shifter - I figured if you punched your phone every time you put it in park that wouldn't be ideal.

Time for an update guys! R&D is officially done and I have fulfilled about 10 orders now all with glowing reviews.

I'm going to post the official 'listing' below as it contains pretty much all of the info you should need if you were to decide you want to place an order

New phone charger alert! This takes advantage of the silly fold down shifter recess and gives you a clean mounting solution with no visible wires. I'm taking advantage of a genuine Apple MagSafe puck for the fastest charging possible. Yes, that means iPhones only for now, but if there is enough interest for something else I'm happy to make the effort do get it done.

I've been working on this project for a while now and finally have something I think is ready to sell. I've had it out in the wild with a few people to get feedback and have taken that feedback and meshed it into this final version. It now has a very positive retention mechanism and uses an existing bolt to lock it in place so it won't move around on you.

I'm happy to take personal orders now through paypall or venmo good and services for buy protection, but I am in the process of setting up a Shopify store for the future.

Pricing is $70 without the MagSafe puck included, or $110 with if you don't have one already. They are $39 from Apple, so it's more a convenience thing than a profit thing.

Note, I have some pictures here that show it not in black. Those were test prints using a cheaper material. It will only come in a high quality black PETG filament at that list price. Custom colors could be a possibility but would need to be priced separately.

i use the narrow slit cubby between the shifter and the cup holder sot hold my phone.
but i am weird and dont look at my phone while driving or use car play or android.

I do the same, I dont need to waste money on something to hold my phone. That thing looks like the Cup Phone by Weathertech that sells for $70, that's a big no for me.

More options are infinitely better than less options, and this does not take away a valuable cup holder. Good luck it!

Can a different wireless charger be used in place of the Apple mag charger?

The base would be interchangeable, but I would need to design a new upper section for anything other than MagSafe. Right now i have only designed around the apple one.
