I bought a glass screen protector from Amazon when I noticed fine scratches starting in areas of the screen that are common input touch points. Completely covers them. I preferred the gloss look over the flat protectors and it worked out fine.

I went with the Spigen screen protector. It does hide all the issues with the screen but it has a sort of frosted look because it’s anti glare. I don’t love it because it doesn’t match the sheen of the other glass/plastic in the truck and also makes the screen look a little washed out. Overall I’m happy with it though. Better than seeing those circles.

That damn sun shows everything! :)

Just adding a couple thoughts to this because this morning I noticed, when perfectly angled to the sun, after 6 months how marked my screen is today, and I have not yet cleaned it (because I did not want to scratch it). It probably didn't help that either my dealer or the one that transferred it to my dealer pulled off the protector and detailed the interior before delivery. At least it distracts me from how bad my windshield is already? (15,000 miles in 6 months, mostly highway, means I've been sandblasted from the front.)

Ford uses a fairly soft plastic for its touch screens, akin to some early cell phones/screens. The likely reason is because anything too hard -- certain plastics and certainly glass -- would be a hazard in an accident. Glass, of course, could shatter and (like other glass in the truck) find itself in eyes, faces, etc. The secondary reason is cost. A touch screen and a gauge separator made of something like Gorilla Glass would do wonders to prevent scratches, but a piece of plastic can be thicker, lighter, and more flexible -- and cheaper -- than its glass equivalent.

It stinks to see it marked up so much already. It's notable how abrasive our fingers/dry skin/etc. are, even clean. But, like every car manufacturer out there, as much as we try to keep our rides looking perfect... or close to it, because they still are going to be used/abused, manufacturers only care that vehicles look perfect when they're on the lot.

On the bright side, the scratches on the screen pale in comparison to what my kids can do/have done to the rear door panels and area on the back of the console already. And, we may have player five entering the game soon, so I'm really just enjoying the time that I have left with a relatively new looking truck. 12 months from now, I will be longing for the days when it smelled less like poo.

If you look close at the picture I posted you’ll notice that the two spots on my screen are actually where it’s not scratched, basically like it’s never been touched. It doesn’t make sense to me why it’s like that.

I ended up getting the Spigen anti-glare screen protector. While it does hide those spots and all the scratches on the screen, the anti-glare makes the screen look frosted and washed out which I really don’t like. I may replace it if it continues to bother me but we’ll see.
