One of the first interior mods I did I love it and I get so many compliments at stoplights and at drive-thru’s. The hardest part was getting the headliner out without making any visible creases.

The light kit was 140$. Plus low temp hot glue And electric tape. Total was about $160. And it took me about 5.5 hours to complete. Around here (DC Metro area) my shop charges anywhere from $1k- $3000 depending on size. I would charge about $3000 to do it on a 4 door F150 like mine. Had to take front and rear seats out and all the pillar trims. I only have curtain airbags in my head liner. But some have the speakers in there and bunch of other stuff. It’s definently worth doing I did the 460 strand lights with the twinkle effect but I would recommend the 600 strand one. Mine is mores concentrated in the right rear where I started and by the time I got to the drivers area I was running out of strands
Basically remove interior drop the headliner. Take a sharpie and start making dots all over the headliner on the back side, this helps with making sure you don’t have weird clusters and dead spots Then get a pick in a slightly smaller diameter then your fiber optic strand. The one I ordered had 2 or 3 different diameter strands. I placed my light engine in the passenger rear pillar behind the trim panel and seat. I took about a 4 foot section of the beginning ( where the strands plug into the light engine). And wrapped that in electrical tape. Then starting from the right rear of the headliner I would poke holes thru the headliner. Run the strand thru the hole ( make sure you leave a little slack but don’t pull the strand too tight, but also not too loose, then use hot glue to secure it at the headliner( use low temp glue so the fiber optic strand doesn’t melt ) do that 460-600 times more and that’s all there is to it.
