Just got back from dealer, my truck wound up in the hands of one of the most experienced Ford techs this dealership has. Spent a few mins with him when I picked it up. Here is what he had to do:
- FOund update available for gateway module (GWM), applied
- After GWM updated, an APIM updated became available, applied
- After APIM updated, another GWM update became available, applied
- After GWM updated, another APIM...applied
- After APIM update, an update to the TCU was available, applied
- After TCU, another GWM, applied....
- After all the GWM, APIM, TCU updates, I appear to be fully updated now

Yep. ? that’s what happens for whatever reason there is definitely a list or order that some of these updates must be installed to open the door for others. I wish that ford would be a little more transparent with these updates so that we would know but either way glad you’re getting squared away. @Jesse-Infotainment was beyond helpful with me and that’s where I’ve learned some of this stuff. He is a great resource.

Hey everyone. I have a 2021 Lariat Powerboost with just under 15000km on it. I know I’ve received a few ota updates for the sync system and Alexa, but I don’t know if I have all the updates for the vehicle in general. I had a spark could issue a while back and got that fixed but have been having the common hard shifting between gears 1-3. Can someone check my vin to see if I have any updates that haven’t gone through that maybe smooth this out?

If you still had a GWM or IPMA update in the queue when you quit work it is likely they were blocking the APIM update from appearing. Next time, do those first (and any TCU updates for good measure) and a new APIM should appear. Updates are often iterative. You need to apply one and then another appears and when you apply the new one another appears after that. But eventually you will get through them all.

I had this all day today. Full 8 hours. One after another. Still I believe more hiding.

Yahoo....looks like I have a GWM module that needs an update... I guess I will be getting a FDRS license in the near future. And maybe more updates after I do the GWM....
