Remote start via FordPass but not key fob

So, I can remote start my truck via FordPass, either scheduled or on-demand, but cannot remote start it from my key fobs. Yes, even with new 2450 batteries. What mean?

Same with my truck, and I have the fob in the photo.

I found that with my key fob I have to first press the lock button and then quickly double press the start button.

Ugh. I just figured it out. Lock-unlock—lock, THEN two hits on the remote start. I’m an idiot.

Yep, but I figured it out after a bit. Press lock, then unlock, then lock again, and THEN double hit the remote start. Works great. And, I should have remembered this from my previous F150. ?‍

Jeesh, on my '22 i just have to hit the lock button and then the remote start button twice. That's complicated what you have to do there.

Yeah, using unlock in the start sequence doesn’t sound right. Never seen that before except with aftermarket units. And if you’re using the stock remote start remote, it can’t be aftermarket.

Is this a truck that came with remote start? If you’re not original owner, any possibility an aftermarket alarm/remote start was added by a prior owner?

If OEM remote start and FOB, all you need is single press Lock, then double press the start button

The ford perimeter alarm that you add on uses the lock-unlock-lock to activate the start with the standard key fobs.

Well that's certainly new news to me, Never heard of that dealer add-on.
OP's truck is a Lariat & should already have the advanced security package UNLESS it was deleted (would show on window sticker) but THEN added this perimeter plus option back in by a dealer. Only explanation that would make sense I guess.

Interesting, Not on the App Store listing that‘s for iOS. Strange for an Android release before IOS .
