Recommended Windshield Replacement Shop

My windshield needs replacing and my insurance company recommends Safelite Auto Glass. It's been a long time since I've had a windshield replaced and I wanted to know if they are a good shop. If not what would everyone recommend. Thank you.

It all depends on the techs at your local Safelite shop. I used them at my place of employment to replace a windshield on a medium duty truck and they were ok. The windshield didn't leak afterwards, but they were sloppy and careless with the install. You are free to use anyone you want, just be aware that the shop you choose may not deal with your insurance. You will pay upfront, then be reimbursed by your insurance. I would suggest asking friends, relatives or the garage that you use for a recommendation. Hope this helps.

I've used Safelite for previous vehicle several times. The only time I had a problem was the first time I used them and they were ordering an aftermarket windshield that had distortion. After the 4th one, they were authorized by my insurance to order OEM glass and installed that. I would tell the technician your expectations when they arrive (or at the shop if you go to their site) and then stand by it until you're happy with the results.

I would take it back to the dealer. I think that the camera has to be calibrated after the windshield is replaced and you would get OEM glass.

I used safelight on my 2021 f150. They did a good job, got OEM glass even with the Ford logo and were able to calibrate the camera been 9 months made it through the harsh winter and lots of car washes without any issues.
