Ugh Ford!
RE: SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE (SSM) 53683 ABS - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) U3012:68 Stored in the ABS Module
HAPPENED TWICE-where upon starting the vehicle the brake pedal nearly drops to the floor with poor braking-sudden grab.
After shutting off the engine, locking the vehicle but not setting the parking brake and walking away from the vehicle with all key fobs at least 40 feet away the two ABS modules can properly shut down after 10 minutes.
The technician (1st occurrence with the brakes after having it towed to the dealership) who was helpful, spoke with Dearborn engineers and on the ball is no longer with the local dealership. Dealership in DEN has not had any vehicles experience this and may or may not be able to resolve the situation with software updates AND say I can drop off the vehicle but they may not actually do diagnostics for 3-5 days even though I live 175 miles away.
Anybody else and apparently there is no fix available at our local dealership but is expected during the 3rd quarter of 2025.
