My truck has always done this sometimes but I kinda feel like it might be getting worse.
Maybe 50% of the time when I put the truck in reverse I get a loud clunk or thunk. Doesn’t seem to matter if I’m in drive to reverse or park to reverse.
I can’t really tell if it is the transmission or maybe the rear differential? Feels like a lot of slack gets taken up with a big jolt.
Is this somewhat common? A Powerboost “feature”?
I think I’m gonna grease the slip yoke splines one weekend to see if it might help.
Just wondering if this is normal or a problem. Like I said it isn’t all the time. Sorta like how my trans will shift smoothly but not all the time. Just seems random.
