Power running board configurations

I was wondering if there was a way to configure my running boards? I want to have them deployed when unlocked, or when welcoming, and not retract until the vehicle actually locks. It gets annoying when they keep going in and out, when opening doors, all while the truck is unlocked. If tehre is already a thread explaining this, please let me know and I will gladly read that. Also, if this is somet

Working from memory, but I think we are limited to the 20 seconds, or something like 5 minutes. (could be wrong) but not a lot of options. which is wild considering its all just computer code. why not give you a slider to select times. but then I have a 2023 truck that is missing most of the stuff it should have anyway so I know I am asking way too much of Ford.

and as I recall you can set them permanently up or down. dont understand that one either. If I am cleaning the interior I leave a door open, then the boards stay down.

I really wish they were smart boards and only came down on the door that is opened , like some after market boards.

it also bothers me that if you want the welcome lighting the boards pop out for no apparent reason when you walk up. you cant have just the lights, soooo, my welcome lights are off. dumb

The only option is 5 minutes, which makes a big difference.
The out/in option switches back to auto as soon as you start the truck, in my experience anyway.

OK, so I am trying the 5 min option. so far you are right, seems better.
I was worried that 5 minutes would be too long. but so far it seems good.
I thought they would stay out as I drove off, but looks like they retract at about 4 or 5 mph.

if i am cleaning /washing the truck, i set them as OUT
or use the kick switch on the end of the boards and they will stay out until
i drive above 4 or 5 mph, no matter how many times doors are closed or opened.
the kick switch then resets to work only if truck is unlocked in my settings

I used to read the manual , but this digital version in the truck and/or online sucks.
