I have 19 expedition just turned 37k miles. Pinion Seal is leaking was told by Ford Service this is normal for this mileage. Not covered by power train warranty. A 600 dollar repair. At 5k miles it needed all 4 struts which was covered. Is this truly normal.

Front or rear pinion seal should not be leaking [ dripping] at 37K. However , it is not uncommon for a pinion seal to weep, but not enough to drip. $600 seems excessive to replace a pinion seal, I would imagine closer to $300 at a trusted garage as it's not a difficult job. A new seal, possibly a new crush collar, some fluid to top off and maybe an 1 1/2 hr job. Good luck.

Mine was replaced under warranty. It wouldn't drip, but if you drove it and parked, you'd see a drip forming but never dropped. Ha.
