I had an odd issue on my 3-month old 2025 XLT....my front passenger power window this week decided not to raise or lower from the driver's side control. I can raise/lower it from the passenger side door control. I can run all of the other (3) windows from the driver side, except that one. Ran it over to the dealership and they took a look at it...that was Wednesday (7/9) afternoon. According to them, they eliminated the driver side switch as an issue, did some wiring troubleshooting, and ordered a power window control module, which will take until the following Wednesday (7/16) to arrive. They made it sound like that may or may not be the issue!

Anyone had/know of this sort of issue before that seems to be more of a wiring/control versus a motor/switch issue?

It may be something else entirely…

Have you had any battery issues? For example, does your auto start stop not work, have you had any shutting down system to save battery notices, has FordPass not worked, interior lights don’t come on at night sometimes, etc? Do you drive it most days and for decent distances (allowing the battery ample opportunity to charge)?

Some have had issues with passenger door or window not working using fob or driver side controls and it has been one of the random signs the 12V battery is bad. Yes, even on a few months old battery. I assume you have a non-powerboost truck. You probably have an H6 size battery which is borderline inadequate for capacity and the Motorcraft batteries in the last several year are some of the worst in general anyway.

I would say we’ve seen the battery more often causing door unlock and window issues than we’ve seen a bad motor or switch from the window or door.

No - no other issues. Well I brought it to the dealer and they took a week, but fixed it under warranty. The issue was not the door switch - it was the power window control unit - PU5Z-14B291-BN. They said that Ford told them they had seen this sort of thing before and if it is not the switch, then that module was most likely going bad.

I'll keep my eye on the battery - the build date on mine was Dec 24 and I bought it in March 25, so it never sat a lot.
