Partial driver side DRL out/dimmed

After reading some posts it seems to be the only option to fix a partial DRL outage is to purchase a new headlight. Looking on eBay, some of these used OEM headlights either come with or without an LED module. I cannot really find what this module is for other than for automatic high beams. Am I good using the LED module from the affected headlight? Or does the LED module possibly have something to do with the partial DRL outage?

Could be either the lamp or the module. The modules are programmed to the vehicle so I would probably swap out the module if you get a used lamp. Try to match up the engineering number on the modules before you order one online. Is the truck out of waranty?

Yes unfortunately the truck is out of warranty. I see modules for sale anywhere from 50-100 bucks online. You’re saying if I get a new module to make sure its engineering number matches mine?
A lot of the headlights on eBay are also non returnable so I’m wondering if I try buying a module first?

I think he's saying make sure the numbers match on the replacement light and the modules.
