Well folks, after the above order I stumbled across a very low mile TrackHawk at a great price. I was also offered an very reasonable trade-in on the truck. After mulling it over for a day, I let go of my F150. Terry was kind enough to let me cancel the order on the Fore Stage 2 kit however by the time I traded the truck in, the headers already arrived AND I had them sent out for Cerakote. Now I have a set of beautiful catted long-tube headers for a steal if you've been thinking about headers:

This build has been a blast and the community has been fantastic. When my boys are older I plan to get a RCSB and have a go at it again, it's such a great platform. I couldn't pass up the opportunity on the TrackHawk, it's a special beast.

Hey, congrats on the TrackHawk! I enjoyed your build progress here, I'm sure others have as well. Just wondering, aren't you the slightest bit concerned about how the previous owner cared for the TrackHawk? In my mind, no one takes care of a modified for power vehicle like you. One owner might think it's totally fine to beat on it, but not another. You just never know if it was abused or not 🤷‍♂️

Thanks a ton man. I am close to the organization that sold it, only 33k miles and it remained bone stock. I checked pulley, intake, throttle body, down pipe flanges etc. all untouched nuts/bolts/worm-clamps etc.

Paint is untouched, never corrected. It’s actually the only reason I parted with my F150, I just knew it wouldn’t be possible again at a reasonable (4k over book) price and they sure as *hit aren’t going to stuff another ballistic blown 8-cyl into another nimble AWD SUV in my lifetime. The hellcat Durango is great but extremely large and bloated feeling compared to the TrackHawk.

Stumbled upon your thread, becuase I just saw your truck for sale. After going thru it.. would you still do the vortech over the whipple? I love that avalanche color and a supercrew would be useful, but Im really trying to hold out for a RCSB.

Congrats on the new ride!

Thanks brother! Man if you are on the fence and logistics aren't a bear to grab mine, I'd do it. I was extreme about oil changes (never more than 3,500 and always pennzoil platinum) and I fluid filmed the undercarriage twice, it looks near new. Paint was corrected and ceramic-coated, full PPF up front man that thing just pops better than new. It has a full-size spare with a brand new matching tire in back. Josh @ 5Star tuned it post blower install, zero hiccups yada yada. I changed the supercharger oil twice as much as recommended and I'm actually still sitting on a smaller pulley I could mail ya' for free if you wanted it. You can reach out to me anytime, I get email notifications on message and I stay on top of email given my work. Brian & Josh at Motor Vault are top notch dudes. They typically deal in vehicles vastly more valuable but they treat everything with the utmost respect and are genuinely some of the best humans I've ran across. They run the kind of place that you'd want to bring your family to and just hang out.

Anyhow, enough gushing on the truck and them. As for the blower, yes I'd do it again over any other available F/I system out there but not because either approach is clearly superior to the other. A few key points for me were:

1. Great MPG when not deep into the throttle. Loaded with family and gear I was often seeing 18+ MPG highway (95% of the miles on my truck were highway btw).

2. I didn't want to impose additional power on the powertrain full-time. The V3-SI doesn't build real boost until 2,800 or so. I never wanted to deal with the cats burning up given the time & cost domino effect on that scenario. That's not to say it's a given on a whipple by any means, its just far more common than centris on a coyote. My motor never felt strained or strung out. I was never worried about it and that peace of mind has REAL value for me. It could not fail when loaded with family while traveling the country or my wife would shoot me flat out.

3. The character it imparts is comical in a great way. I just installed the LegMaker intake on my TrackHawk. It's the loudest hellcat intake available and while it does indeed increase the whine volume a LOT, it still doesn't hold a candle to all the audible feedback you get from a centri, not by a long shot.

4. In my case I had never ran a centri style blower, I've done everything else so it was a bucket list type of thing for me too which may or may not apply to you.

What did I sacrifice?

Power, a good bit of it dollar for dollar. If you go centri don't line up against a whipple unless you're running something bigger than the V3-SI unit. They will have a minimum of 150hp/tq on you. With a bigger centri, sure let it eat and give anything hell but know that those whipple folks are vicious savages and man they are quick and live in 4WD. Whipple dudes wake up wondering what's on the menu type of folks : o )

I found myself thinking more than once "That bougee C8 driver is lucky I didn't go whipple" haha.

* internet disclaimer * - Not all C8 drivers are bougee.

I hope that helps!

Appreciate the feedback. I had just sold my 2023 BAP Ecoboost crew cab earlier this year and Im really trying to stick to find the right RCSB 5.0 4x4 truck. If I were in the market for another crewcab, I would definitely consider it especially since you took exceptional care of it and documented the build.
