OK now what???

I jumped in and placed an order with my dealer last night for a 21 PB Lariat. I realize I am in for the long haul but what are the first steps I should expect to hear back on? The dealer said everything was submitted yesterday but I have not heard anything from Ford. How long does it take to get that first email from Ford saying I'm "in the system"?

Patience is the operative word ... browse through the forums and you'll see what I mean. You might want to sit down and have a beverage handy.

As has just been stated, patience is the key word. If you didn’t know what has been happening for the last 3-4 months, you will learn quickly that Ford could care less about you and the rest of us folks who placed orders and are waiting for news on the progress of them. Welcome to the long line of frustration.

I have been reading on this forum for a while now. I anticipate a long wait and am hoping to take delivery before the end of the year. I was more curious how long I would take for Ford to say "hey, we got your order, you are in line".

My friend ordered in March and just got notification that his truck will arrive in mid July.

My dealer was able to give me the VIN and order number in 3-4 days. No reason why you could not get the same information in the same time frame

Take a read through this thread I posted back in February. It lists all the specifics of the Ford ordering process:

The long and short of it, you are waiting on your dealer to have allocations (if they don't already). If they do have allocations, your order will be "picked up" and placed into the order bank the following week, likely on a Thursday. After that, you'll enter "Order in Processing" status and will likely be there for a while until production can get caught up. Once you get to "In Production" status things should slowly but surely begin to move quicker.

I place my order on June 17,LARIAT 501A. I called Monday for a explanation of the process. I was inform that my order won't be pick up by FORD until the beginning of July. That's when the new allocation for the dealers open up for placing orders now. Also they send a copy of my DL with my order cause ford is asking for a copy now. My order was placed with a priority code 10. Hope it helps.

I place my order on June 17,LARIAT 501A. I called Monday for a explanation of the process. I was inform that my order won't be pick up by FORD until the beginning of July. That's when the new allocation for the dealers open up for placing orders now. Also they send a copy of my DL with my order cause ford is asking for a copy now. My order was placed with a priority code 10. Hope it helps.

The stories dealers tell us are funny. I just texted with my dealer and he said nothing about July. He did say that their store had plenty of allocation to support this order. 501A PB Lariat. Now I just wait and see.

I appreciate all the responses on this thread. Like I said I have been lurking for a few weeks and its fun to join into the misery.

I also had to provide a copy of my DL with the order. They made me sign several pages of the build as well as a mocked-up sales agreement.

I placed my order 2nd week of April. My order was picked up on 4/16. My build date is 6/19 and it shipped 6/20. It shows an ETA of 7/2-7/8. So follow up with your dealer in a week and see if they have a VIN and order number. You can then start tracking the process. Hopefully they will keep up with orders going forward. Also check what your priority code is. Mine was and 11. I think 10 os the highest and a lot have reported they were 19.

Mine is 19. I have seen to many conflicting stories about the importance of the code.

"... fun to join into the misery..." You'll probably have more than a few shrinks offer you a free session! Maybe all of us waiting on the 2021 trucks should get together in a few years. We're a special group for sure...

Ordered mine on 5-13 and just got VIN on 6-21. No word on build date yet. Still in order processing at Kansas plant. 6 weeks and counting so far….
