Any of you guys who have done any sort of major mods already know this but I haven't actually spent much time under the truck, other than to take a quick look around and snap a pic of the spare tire and the hitch label.

While installing SumoSprings yesterday, I noticed some fairly dainty looking lines and very small, very NOT protected wires, just forward of the rear axle, on the driver's side.

Somewhat shielded I guess, by the fuel tank but if you're slinging mud, you know how that goes.

Guessing they have something to do with the brakes but whatever they do, "Robust" isn't the word that comes to mind.

Lots of off road miles here, no issues. I installed RCI skids, but they don’t cover the area you’re describing. For me as long as nothing is hanging down it’s not an issue.

Wires when made into tiny harnesses are very resilient unless you have rodents living there, so that's pretty much any car Kryptonite.
