I have a new 2023 PowerBoost Lariat. Today I noticed the auto headlamps behaving strangely - like taking 3 miles to turn back off after going through a tunnel and another 3 miles to turn off after leaving a gas station. As we got a little closer to sunset, they were a little erratic - turning on and off every mile or two. It's as if anything other than very bright direct sun caused them to turn on.

At the same time, I noticed the cabin was hot and I had to turn the climate control far lower than I'd expect to cool it down.

I suspect the culprit is the Sun Load sensor (DG9Z-13A018-E) since it appears to have an impact on both the lights and HVAC and that would explain both behaviors.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen similar behavior and had it dealt with. I'm pretty far from any dealer and am dreading scheduling an appointment just to hear "cannot duplicate".

As an update, this only happened for one day. Since then it's been fine. Not sure what the deal was! I'll update if it reoccurs.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
