Not Using Electric Mode

P0A1E code for me too, @BCP28 was kind enough to pull the codes for me.

I think I'm going to wait for it to happen again, maybe by chance it'll act up when I'm near the dealer and I can swing over so they can see it. I have a feeling if I brought it in now, they wouldn't be able to do much with it not acting up.

Well, happened again today so I called the dealer. They're going to look at it on Tuesday. Same code, same symptoms - loss of electric mode followed by a CEL.

Dealer diagnosed it this morning and said they found the BISG to be intermittently failing - they're ordering a new one and are swapping it next week.

New swap date is the end of next week. Took them longer than they expected to get the part in. No CEL since the diag visit but interestingly today was the first time I have ever heard it use the regular starter so I am wondering if the BISG is getting worse and it saw something it didn't like on an initial startup cycle.

Swap is done. Electric/gas transitions seem a little smoother but the big difference is it's much more eager to use electric mode. Before, it basically didn't do it unless I tapped the brakes. Now, it often does it when I simply let off the throttle.
