No Data On iPhone when connected to wireless carplay

As soon as wireless CarPlay connected I don’t have data anymore.

things I have tried:
Reset radio
Turned off WiFi in truck
Updates phone to iOS 26
Reset network settings on phone
Forgot and reconnected to radio multiple times
A few other things I found online

nothing works. Very frustrating as I have been using flawlessly for over a year without issues. Renders maps and music useless.

anyone have this issue and found a fix?

Wireless CarPlay uses WiFi to transmit, so your phone relies of cellular connectivity for data when wireless CarPlay is on. Does it have the same issue with wired CarPlay?

I had the same issue. But, when I plugged my iPhone into the USB port - I was good to go. I then had data and CarPlay.

If I paid to enable my F150 onboard modem would I get data and wireless CarPlay at the same time?

Yes works when plugged in. But not the functionality I am used to or want. I pretty much use wireless constantly.

I am not 100% sure but it seems to have something to do with VPN. I changed no settings just all of the sudden just stopped working.

I got a new phone and copied old phone and problem persisted. I then reset new phone and did not copy old phone. Seems to have solved the problem. Albeit a pain to redo the phone over.

I am not exactly sure what the problem was but doing that solved it for me.

I don’t think so. The phone can only have one WiFi connection at a time.
