I have a new Lariat powerboost 4x4 FX4 regular tow package and totally loaded with options (no max tow) and I towed our 22' Bennington triple pontoon boat with a Yamaha 150 outboard on tandem surge brake trailer (5500+ lbs ?) and it did just fine. The rear of truck lowered (squatted) to just above truck level with boat connected and plenty of power even climbing hilly areas. I am not a fan of towing mirrors so a little struggle with standard mirrors pulling an 8.5' wide boat. May need to get some add on towing mirrors If we pull boat a long distance. My other trailers (tilt 20'car, 6x14 36" walls) are fine with regular mirrors. Just pulled the 6x14 tandem utility trailer with 2500# load of old trex decking to dump (5000lbs gross) and it did just fine with no special WD hitch. Minimum squat. Hardly knew it was there. Electric brakes weren't working and it still was easy tow.

Hi,
we are seriously looking at a Powerboost. I would like to ask opinions on two things we are debating.

First 6.5 box or 5.5 box?
We currently have a 2018 2.7 Ecoboost with a 6.5 box and super cab. Since the PB comes with Crewcab that will add an extra foot. Or we loose lovely space that we are accustomed to.

Second question, Moonroof or no? All my cars have had moonroofs these past 20+ years and I would miss it.

This will be our only vehicle as we would trade both our F-150 truck and my Prius in on this purchase. We would use this new truck for me to drive to work (DH is retired) and to pull our Travel Trailer and be hurricane back up power!

Thanks!

I have the 6.5 pb i have aleays opted for mpre space in bed as i like to cover the bed so its more space protected . I have some challenges w generator fxn when raining though its supposed to be fixed by OTA soon . Be aware some glitches w generator occur . Ehen it runs it runs great though steady wattage and clean enough for electronics if needed

I have a 2021 powerboost XLT 302A, FX4 off road, XLT Sport, 4x4, 373 rear, 2.7kw gen, gvwr 7350, combined wt 1619, 145 wb, and I quote from the sticker "trailer tow package" and I still find it confusing as to the trailer capacity I can tow. It's either 11000 or 12400 pounds. The chart from ford is 17000 GCWR for 11000 and 18400 GCWR for 12400. So is there a quick way to find out towing capacity. I am assuming 11000, but not completely sure. I tow a 34 foot 7600# coachman travel trailer. Not yet towed over the road.
