Someone, anyone. Please tell me I am not losing my mind. after these 2 quick updates that are preparing us for the next big update my truck is not driving the same. I swear when I take off from a light slowly on electric and when the engines kicks on, my entire truck jolts/shakes. It's incredibly noticeable and almost unbearable in stop and go traffic. Truck seamlessly switched between electric and combustion engine before these updates. I suppose it could be another problem that popped up at the exact time but I need reassurances that I am not going crazy.

Probably coincidental as the updates didn't do anything to the PCM. If you get the PCM update(s) applied though, you'll have smoother shifting and better hybrid efficiency.

Mine will occasionally rock over when the ICE fires up at a stop. Other times not so much. I suspect this is as much to due to with where the engine was in its firing order then it started up as much as the craptastic FX4 shocks allowing for excessive body roll.

MY '20 Ranger would do it too if the auto stop/start was re-enabled and that thing only had the 2.3l I4 in it. When I replaced the rear shocks with Bilstein 4600's it got a lot better. I'm swapping the OEM FX4 rear shocks out for a set of 5100's this weekend so hopefully it will calm the start/stop jerk down some as well.

Is this PCM update you refer to not automatic over OTA? If not, how do you get it? Dealership? Thanks!

Dealership or DIY with FDRS are the only methods in aware of. I think 5.0 users got an OTA PCM update long ago, but that was it.

I recently got both updates. The first one came OTA, the second I applied using FDRS. I haven’t noticed any irregularities in shifting.

No forscan access but how would I be able to tell if I have the latest update?

FORScan woudn’t tell you what you need to know. And your truck has in excess of 35 modules. There is no single update.

I recommend you visit the ECU programming thread and ask someone to run your VIN for available module updates for your specific truck. I suspect you haven’t had a powertrain control module (PCM) update since you bought the truck and that is likely your problem. There have been at least a couple of PCM updates since last fall and I don’t think any of them has come OTA.

My truck (2021 loaded Powerboost Lariat FX4) was begging me to schedule updates so I did a couple days ago. Now the truck says that the trailering brakes recall is done. I ran an errand yesterday and when I locked truck with key fob, it no longer honked when I pressed "lock" repeatedly. I needed to move my boat to its winter carport so I plugged in 7 pin light plug to release surge brakes when backing. The dash had random relay clicking and kept reminding me cross traffic was not available. I never heard so much clicking in previous trailering with boat. Also, my "boost" gauge is no longer displayed that I use to hyper mile my powerboost. I tried to configure it and can't find any gauge option to get it back. I went through all options available on right hand steering wheel buttons and can't find any way to get it back. The truck seems to clunk differently when going from ICE to electric and back. I swear a lot changed and I hope it learns back like it was before update. I liked the way it was like you.
