2022 F150 Lariat Powerboost
Hey folks, 31 year old dad, been driving minivans, sedans, and crossovers for the last 15 years. My promo went through and I just placed a custom order for a 22' Powerboost Lariat in Rapid Red. No date, but I imagine it'll be 3-4 months, or longer (with the recent slow downs)

I'm a big boy (6'5 and built like a lineman) and I'm excited to finally be in a truck!

Base:
- Lariat trim, 6.5' bed (prefer it for the flexibility and in bed tents)
- Rapid Red
- Powerboost Hybrid
- 4x2 (In Central Texas, won't be hauling or towing more than once or twice a quarter, light camping, gravel and dirt roads at worst, no boats for now, make enough money that I don't care about resale value that much)
General Options:
- Base package (wanted 40/20/40 because my knee resting on console is one of my biggest pet peevs when driving)
- Co Pilot Assist 2.0
- Tow Technology Package
- Bed Utility Package
- 8 Speaker B&O upgrade
- 7.2kw Pro Power (camping and I was already looking at honda generators for the home, that all cost more than the $750 upgrade)
Aftermarket Options I'll add later:
- Tonneau Cover (not sure which I'll go with)
- Spray-in Bedliner (dealer offered a nice discount over Ford factory)
- What else? What's fun? What's worth it?

So what do I need to know? Maintenance? Fun tricks and tips? Never had a vehicle this powerful and functional.

Sit in one with a console before you write it off. Going up to 502A for actually-good headlights is a big deal. Also if you got 4x4 you'd get 4A which is basically full time all wheel drive and is spectacular, even in the rain.

Window tint. Ceramic or better, all windows, as soon as you get it.

Congratulations newtruckguy2!

Maintenance - oil change and rotate tires more frequently than Ford recommends. It's cheap and your truck will thank you with many years of reliable service. My truck has ~9,900 miles on it, but the tire I bet they have 1/3 of their tread left. I understand they're the old cheapo's from the factory, but wow.

Fun tricks - I believe the Co Pilot Assist 2.0 comes with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go. Awesome feature when driving on the highway long distances. IMHO, it makes for a much more enjoyable drive and it's nice to have "assistance" while driving these days with all the traffic that's out there.

Tips - remember, it's a heavy vehicle and it takes a little longer to stop. For me, sometimes I have to remind myself when I think about stepping on it to be mindful what's around me and do my best to antipate the unknown.

I'm sure you and your family will create many new memories with your new truck.

Again, congratulations!
