1st post here. Disclaimer. I have been in the retail side of the car business for close to 3 decades. Started off at Ford. I have my new F150 King Ranch on order since Jan. Got the call from my dealer ( one in our dealer group) yesterday with the bad news about mine not being shipped because of the chip shortage. Bummed out.
Everyone with a delayed order needs to realize that it is not the dealers fault. They don’t get paid until the truck is picked up from the customer. It’s not their fault. They want you to have your new ordered F150

The dealer is in the same boat we are, they can't get any information from Ford either. Communication and Customer Service certainly isn't their strong point!

That is not a Ford problem. Other manufacturers won’t tell you anything about customer orders. I am responsible for ordering and customer communication for our brand. I under that things happen but communication and transparency would be great.
My 2 cents

I ordered my King Ranch 18 sept, I don't think they started building 2021 until mid oct, so the first month is on me!
Scheduled blend first week Feb then kicked back six weeks. I'm not blaming ford or my dealer for shortages, but twice I've been lied to by my salesman, once he said it was in transit when pioneer told me it was offsite waiting for parts.
Last week I asked them to do open trace and they conveniently didn't know how to do that.
I still want my truck and if it comes in and is up to my inspection I will take it, but they will always be liars in my opinion!

It's a salesperson. The number one characteristic is that they know when and how to attempt a lie. They tell you what they want you to hear, not what you want to hear or the truth.

Here's the good part - For a lie to be effective, there needs to be two parties that participate in the lie.

1. The lier
2. The party they lied to.

If you accept the lie and let it ride, the lie worked. If you don't accept the lie and call them out on it, the lie failed. You are an active participant - but at least you didn't accept the lie.

A lot of people know they are being lied to and still accept the lie to "be nice." This is the issue.

Yes. I am in sales with a different brand.
I didn’t realize that I was going to be called a liar by giving my experience on ordering a truck.
I just wanted to share my experience.
Nice to hear your opinions about me and my profession. You are entitled to it.
