I have been fighting REAL hard to get in to one of these new trucks at my job. I have a 21 Lariat that I love and have had my fingers crossed many months for one of these, even if they are just the basic work truck trim. They finally caved and got me out of the unnecessarily big Ram 2500 (pictured in the background) we were in and put me in one of these XL’s. Some folks got some sweet XLTs a year ago I’m pretty jealous about ?.

But anyway, I asked my manager about getting a toolbox for it and he wants me to get 4-6 to keep in our warehouse for new employees.

I’ve attached photos of kind of what we are looking for. Weatherguard is the only brand of toolboxes I’ve ever had any experience with, but I saw one from Decked for $899. Are there any vendors offering discounts on a “bulk” order of toolboxes? My manager is looking for a deal for me to go back to him with. I don’t know that I can disclose my company, but it is a very large crude oil company. He’s a finance guy so he’s all about saving money thus why I’m looking for a discount. Locally, being an oilfield town, they are upcharging all accessories because companies can afford them.

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I would not buy composite / synthetic tool boxes for fleet use. False economy, IMO.

That Weather Guard box is sweet! You can't beat that brand.

Yeah we have them on all of our fleet trucks. My last one had issues more related to driving conditions than the material itself. Vibration ground away the latching hooks so I had to tie the lid down with ratchet straps.

I had wondered about these. My previous truck was tearing the metal right under the tool box, from I’m guessing the lease roads and weight of the box. I was on my second bed for that truck and it was developing tears. The previous bed actually got fist sized holes under the tool box. Not to try and start fights, but that could just be a MOPAR thing. ?

I had a low profile TSC box in my tundra I liked (the one currently $299, 14" tall)

Yeah I went up to my local Tractor Supply and they had some there I am taking back to my manager as an option as well! I was surprised by their prices!

i have had 2 of their boxes since 2006 TOUGH as they come
i have the big one now on the trailer and the small one in the truck
Those are actually quite nice! I like that gull wing one a lot. I keep buckets in my tool box to protect them from the elements, and like the idea of that lower lip!

They are not built cheap
You csn tap dance on top
Plus the locks drive a rod across inside to pull doors down
You have to drill locks .
Bought new in 2006...still look great
