I guess it should be expanded upon that perhaps Google maps doesn't do that if you use an iPhone/carplay. For anyone who runs across this, Google maps does do this if you are on an Android phone using Android auto. While I cant help you with Apple Maps, If you use Google Maps, The Gauge Cluster doesnt work with google Maps.

That said I just ran out to the truck and unfortunately can't find a setting to turn this feature off as a whole. Maybe someone else will have better luck.
I actually like that it does it when using android auto. There are some quirks though like when it's doing a countdown to a turn, it says "0ft" until it actually gets to feet. I.e. if google maps says "turn in 1/4 mile", the digital cluster says "turn in 0ft" which is really annoying. It doesn't say correct information until, I believe, it says "turn in 500 ft".Thats good to know! Yes, I am using Apple. So google Nav on your android shows up in the cluster? Strange. I wonder what the truck sees differently.

The smaller gauges threw me for a loop the first time it happened though as it didn't do this in my '17. Also in my '17 it was a dedicated screen. Now it just seems to take over the digital cluster when it wants to use it.
As to why it doesn't work on carplay, my guess is that it is some limitation that Apply has put in carplay to only let it work with Apple Maps, OR google has not added in the API calls for the iPhone version to work on the cluster? It has to be one of those 2 and I'm not sure, unless someone knows of another non-apple maps app that works, which one it is for sure.
Well I guess to make it even more interesting... Google owns Waze. I guess they haven't added that ability into Google Maps for iPhones yet. Interesting indeed.Interesting. I did try waze the other day. While i couldn't stand the app, it did display in the gauge cluster.
Sorry, no it won't change that screen back. It just gets rid of the turn pop-up.as in it’ll return the cluster screen back to normal?
