Last weekend we took a trip in our 4 week old Lariat. Plugged in the address, all good. As we got into "new territory" the navigation system started directing us down rural gravel roads, we had planned to stay on paved roads. Got to see some new country but it was raining and truck got covered in mud. (yeah I know trucks get are supposed to get muddy). Long story short after trying to avoid gravel and failing to find any settings that would do it, I was told by Ford Interior Technology Group it is not possible to set the navigation system to avoid Gravel Back Roads? Anyways we ended up buying a Garmin GPS that can be set to avoid gravel roads? Kind of made the Ford Navigation system useless to us in our case. The Ford map doesn't seem to differentiate between paved and gravel, even the map shows both type of roads as the same visually.
Just wondering if anybody had any tricks or knew of a way to set the Ford Navigation System to avoid rural gravel backroads. Thanks
