My Lariat has a mind of it's own

Hi all

After 8 months of (relatively) trouble free daily use of my truck, I made the mistake of changing some of the settings yesterday relating to folding the mirrors and zone lighting. I went into the screen menu and activated the folding mirrors, and zone lighting. After getting confused about what was going to come on and what was not with the zone lighting I just turned it all off again..... I have no idea what has happened but now I have all sorts of unrelated issues and my truck has a mind of its' own.....

• Drivers window - today I went to close my drivers side window whilst I was ready to get gas (in park, handbrake on and doors closed) and my window closed then reopened on its' own to about 2 inches. I closed it again then it reopened and kept doing so until I held the button whereupon it just stopped. Then it worked again and has been doing the same thing each time I go to shut off the truck since(I drive with the window down usually). Here is a vid... Can anyone suggest what is going on?
• I needed to use my Apple Carplay Nav and suddenly the directions appear in the main console and the speed and tacho move/reduce in size. Can anyone show me how to prevent this happening or tell me what I did wrong?
• 
• I have been driving my truck in 2wd mode during the summer months and when we get rain I switch it to 4A, which I understand to be 4wd as required. Yesterday I had it in 4A and today I start the truck and it is back in 2wd. It seems to be changing on its' own? Does anyone know why?
• My console preference keeps changing. One minute I have Trip 1 as shown above then the next time I start the truck I have the fuel economy graphic showing or some other random selection. I know this has been mentioned before but I haven't had too much of an issue with it?
• Finally, (not related to above) but I have some sort of rattle/loose object in the rear that sounds like the brakes rattling or very much to the rear.... is this the exhaust rattle?

On the window, do the reset/learn function.
The Apple direction in the cluster is a result of OTA 1.71. I do not know a way to stop it from doing this.
The other I have not suggestion.

Like suggested, do the relearn process. No big deal.

If you’re using CarPlay nav, the gauges are supposed to reduce in size to make room for info on the dash.

4A shouldn’t reset on start up, it didn’t in my 2016. Now, if you were in a driving mode that put in 4A, then yes, it will resort back to “Normal” mode every key cycle.

Go into configure your view, and make Trip 1 your first selection if thats what you want to see on every startup.

• I understand though through research that you can apparently turn off the Nav option showing. Just need to figure out how and why it suddenly decided to be the default
• Yes, 4A changes without my input
• Have already made Trip 1 my default but it doesn't want to play hence my raising it
• Already going to my dealer to chat about the rattle

I had the window glitch and followed the manual's guidance. It said it is caused by something blocking the path. I simply ran my finger along the track and it hasn't happened since.

The truck automatically resets to Normal mode which is 2wd, can be nice but can also be annoying. You should have a notification on the dash if you want to revert to the previously used mode if you drove the truck recently but it's not always available.

People covered the other stuff but the directions are a new Carplay feature that Android Auto already had. If you're comparing it to the built in Nav features that take up the center of the dash, Carplay doesn't do that.

Probably because it hurts fuel mileage and tears up tires faster when you don't need it. It is essentially all wheel drive, so you're right, 4wd when it needs it. If you run the power distribution view with 4a on you'll see it gives at least a little power to all wheels most of the time.

I don't think it can be turned off, but I like it so I haven't looked into it.

4A is AWD. It likely resets for fuel economy, as you’ll get worse fuel economy in 4A. However, I need to check if mine switches back to 2Hi automatically or not. I believe if I select 4A in normal mode and never change the drive mode, it’ll stay in 4A when I restart it.

So yesterday we had some snow so I turned mine to slippery which engaged 4A later I turned back to normal but had to push the 2h button to get it out of 4A not sure if that helps or not

Uhh, you shouldn’t have had to do that. I have not used slippery, but Sport modes engages 4A, and then goes back to 2A when I switch back to Normal.

If I set mine to 4A(normal mode), it never turns back to 2hi when the truck is turned off/on. But if I select "sport mode" or whatever mode that sets it to 4a, when it is turned off/on again it switches back to normal mode 2hi.
