I was putting Weathertech molded mudflaps on my new 2023 STX. When I looked at the underside of the running boards, I about flipped. Another Ford crap idea? All plastic running boards. Brackets metal, but they are blow-molded hollow crap! I wondered why after three days of ownership, the board on the drivers side has a belly in it. The outer edge of the board is like 1 or 1-1/4 inches thick. NOT 1-1/2 or better. And I looked for a truck that had boards, and paid $275 for these? Shame on me, Ford. Shame on YOU FORD!!!! I better check the bumpers, too. No, wait! Better not… I’ll probably find them made out of more recycled water bottles.
