Has anyone that has the 3.5 EB or PB had low coolant that was darker than normal? Dealership pressure tested the system says that there are no leaks. Won't do anything more.

Just wondering if others have ran into a coolant problem.

I've had discolored engine coolant. Had not lost any though. I sent a sample off for chemical analysis and it came back as just fine... Still that odd color but not losing any... So-o-o... Still don't like the color but otherwise all seems well in mudville.

Check your exhaust heat exchanger. I bet is it leaking.

That's what I was concerned about. However, the chemical analysis I had done did not show any trace of that. This doesn't mean that it might not be what's going in yours, so take a look.

Just crawl under your truck and carefully inspect the heat exchanger. Do it when the engine is cold so that you can touch things.

You need to check both Hot & Cold. There are cracks that can either open up when hot or close up when hot... And vice versa... The toughest crack to diagnose will be one that leaks into the exhaust side and that also only opens up when hot. You won't see anything when running since the heat of the exhaust stream will evaporate any liquid and pass it out the tail pipe. Unless it is a big leak, you'll likely not see it when cold since it can puddle in the piping. That is specifically why I did chemical analysis and asked for evidence of exhaust in the coolant.

Both times my exchanger leaked I felt coolant on top of the exchanger.
