Live Traffic Updates on Navigation

Hey guys,
Does anyone know how to get live traffic updates on the navigation screen? If so is there a way to do it without paying for the monthly hot spot service. for example using Google maps via CarPlay.

I have never seen traffic on my map. I have the 501A lariat with the built in connected navigation and in Sync I turned on traffic.

From what I can tell this is if you pay for the monthly hotspot ($20 per month)
@bkool2323 - I did find out a work around on Apple car play.
1- setup Apply Car Play
2- Use google maps for navigation (not the Ford map)
3-when you have the Google map open select the gear (settings) and select traffic

that did it for me. It’s pretty cool. Let me know if you are successful. If not I’ll double check my settings.

I do not pay for the hotspot and it worked for me as soon as I registered the F150 in FordPass and it showed the connectivity. You also get the weather map feature in Navigation.

Is this part of the 3 month free Ford Hotspot service? I still need to activate mine I believe.
