Hello,
I had a problem with the left side height level sensor, which returned a DTC with a wrong signal, and the local dealership confirmed that it was broken as re-calibration was solving the issue until the car went/off.

I bought this sensor: https://www.ebay.com/itm/375283775526

Replaced it and got a lot of DTC's which I don't know if are related to a broken sensor, a bad wire, or just missing calibration. I tried to do HCM calibration through FORScan, but it always drops the "high voltage" error. I checked my battery, charged it to 90%, and the voltage was still visible as 14V both for HCM and battery voltage.

Any ideas on how I can handle it?

Is the right hand sensor the same part number? If so, swap them and see if the calibration fault moves to the right. If it does, the sensor is faulty.

I am more than sure that some of these DTCs are occurring just because calibration is missing. I tried two days in a row, and I have no idea what I need to do or how long I need to have the engine turned on to get rid of "Sensor Left: Voltage High!".

This just aborts the HCM calibration.

I maybe being misled by it saying "Front right OK". So it may be that voltage is reported high on the left headlamp itself. I've reached my limit of knowledge, obviously ?‍♂

No worries. It got me the first time, too. Just went to take photos. no sensor on the right side!

Both lamps are working well. The only thing that I also reported yesterday, that when I was using HCM monitoring in FORScan, the Swivel values were changing only when lights were on "automatic" but didn't change values when it was manually turned on to "short beams".

@SilverPigeon could you drop me a photo of your sensor?

I connected the old one today, and the same DTCs occurred. It's weird because it showed the one DTC from HCM about calibration, and now it goes wild. Maybe the whole module is f*cked.

I just got my new front leveling sensor, and unfortunately, it did not fix the problem. I am still unable to calibrate the sensor, but I got some new DTCs.

I checked the Voltage, and everything seems to be fine. I am out of ideas.

All I can suggest at this point is to check the wiring to/from the sensor to/from the HCM as well as all the HCM connections. If all that checks out, either try a swap with another HCM or see if calibration succeeds in FDRS instead of FORScan. Either way I'm thinking you need to spend money 🤷‍♂️

😢

Will investigate it further. I don't have FDRS but was thinking about getting cable (moongoose?).
