Learning fuel type?

Randomly checked the auto start stop tile on the dash and it says “engine on due to learning fuel type” what the hell is that? Lol
I always put 87 in the truck. Anybody seen that before?

I've had that message several times, typically after filling up and especially when the service station changes from and to winter / summer blends. It usually goes away 50 to 75 miles after filling up. The trucks learning the ethanol blend to adjust for the best air fuel mixture. It's unusual that you're getting that message at a 1/3 full, did you just add fuel?

Ahh that makes sense, haven’t filled up in awhile. Maybe been about 4-5 days ago ??‍
