Has anyone had problems with there 2 tone exit alarm going off when its supposed to be turned off and silent? I have my settings turned to silent and when I exit the truck (with key in hand every time,) about 25% of the time I get the loud 2 tone lock alert and the dash says "key not detected." But the key is in my hand and I make sure its in clear site to the truck just a couple feet away. So this is a issue with the key fob not being sensed but why only periodically? Anyone else have this problem?

I know with FORScan you can disable the honk (I did) but I still get the cluster bong. Better than getting honked at.

The truck is intended to honk if you leave the truck with the key while it’s running. Key not detected because it isn’t. You took it out of the truck. Use FORScan or leave your key in the truck to avoid it

So then why does it only alert in that scenario occasionally? I would think if its designed to alert with 2 tones when the key is out of the truck and the truck is off it should do it all the time.

I'll test your suggestion and leave the key inside although that will feel odd.

To clarify - the truck alerts if the key leaves and a door closes while the vehicle is running, not if it is off. This is a bigger deal in the Powerboost, where the engine may not be running, but the truck is still on, so it needs to alert you that you’ve left it on.

The only time I know it’ll double honk while the truck is off is if you try to lock it while a door isn’t shut all the way

Yep; for example if you don't close the door completely (like a semi-latch) it won't honk... it also won't honk if the passenger also has a key.

Interesting. So if it does the 2 tone alert its because the vehicle is on and I have the key with me. Maybe it was just too quiet for me to notice. I'll confirm that next time. Thanks for clarifying.

You are 100% correct. I checked it today.
