Has anyone installed the 77-2617KC K&N intake system on their 3.5L? If so does it make the intake and turbo noise very loud inside the cabin of the truck?

I would stay with dry air filter element instead of oil element.
Regardless of oiled vs synthetic filters.. I am more concerned with if anyone has experienced a bunch of additional intake and turbo noise when installing an open air cleaner on their 3.5.

I have the 63 series K&N intake and if your windows are up you hear nothing. If they are down and you are wide open throttle you’ll hear a little noise from the turbo spool. Nothing ridiculous by any means. I would recommend it as it is a super easy upgrade and to be honest none of the aftermarket intakes are gonna give you huge horsepower gains. I picked mine up for $350 on Amazon.

Anyone that hasn't dropped some big bucks may want to read this first. I found it to be quite an eye opener!

I’m willing to bet that 90% of people are only buying the intake for the sound. That’s the only reason I have on every vehicle I’ve ever owned. I honestly couldn’t care less about the efficiency or possible power increase. That said, I bought the k&n because at the time it was the easiest to get. Doesn’t sound great imo, so I’d probably get the afe dual pipe because in the videos I’ve seen it sounds awesome.
Old Bear is worried about your money. We all spent a ton of money on a new truck that was optional, so I’m willing to say that lots of us couldn’t care less about spending a few hundred on something that makes it fun to press the right pedal.

Just my opinion novel!

I installed it on my Raptor couple of months ago. You can hear more turbo sound.

Nope, not worried about the money - at least that amount. I do worry about performance, and I worry a LOT about engine wear. Some of those filters let so much dirt through it's hardly worth the expense of putting them on. Engine replacements cost a bit more than a couple hundred dollars!

That is from 2009 and on a GMC diesel. A little different than a 2022 Ford F150. I'd guess these are not even close to the same filters from 2009 or what are out in a 2022 f150.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. And air flow is air flow. But time is part of my issue. Try to find current third-party testing of air filters. Best I can tell, they don't exist. We are left to "trust" the manufacturer's claims that they are the best. Well, they all can't be the best, can they? An air filter has two jobs. Flow air and filter out abrasives. The test that I linked to confirmed to me that that is an inverse relationship. We decide where we want our engine to live on that scale.
I still remember when K&N claimed that their air filters got better at filtering as they became dirtier, claiming that the captured dirt became part of the filtering process, and it would still flow more air than everyone else's product! I can see from that test, not so much. This is yet another case of "buyer beware."

I installed a kn cold air intake on my 21 with the 2.7 and also removed the sound insulating pad from the hood half throttle you can hear the turbos sucking air with windows up
