Couple of questions:
Is the list price - what the pricing configurator the same as invoice?
How do I find out invoice price?
As asked for and got 5% off the build configurator - is that good enough?

Not looking for the best possible nickel saver, but just wanting a fair deal.

Price was $74,000
Sale price $70,000

When I ordered my Lariat 502A in February I got about 10% off the Sticker price ($63,000 which is the same as the configurator price) seemed to be close to the invoice price listed on Edmunds.com of $57,000. I was super lucky to get my order in and truck delivered in April before the craziness started with new truck prices and dealer markup.

How do I find out invoice price?
Go to the NADA site. They have an option to build a vehicle and get invoice pricing. You can also send your build to Koons, Chapman (2 on here), or Granger, and they will send you their quote with the invoice pricing.

The Costco car buying site also has a nice configurator that will provide invoice.

Hit up Chip at @GrangerFord. They do 3% UNDER invoice. I am a bit confused why you would ask for advice after the order (assuming your thread title is correct).

Not 100% sure from reading this quote - but I'm assuming you are ordering this truck?

If you have found this in the dealers inventory you probably have a good deal depending on other factors like trade in value, doc fees, and dealer add ons for BS stuff like "paint protection" .. Dealers have scarce inventory now so your leverage is limited.

If you are ordering consider you are in for about a 3 month wait if all goes well, and the dealer gets his profit virtually the day after he takes delivery - you can do much better. I'd simply get a quote from Granger or Chapman. Consider the value of your time and travel and the fact that you won't have a local dealer for follow up. Take this info back to dealer and tell them they have to do better or your pulling the order.

Actually probably closer to 4-6 months based on recent data

Thanks for your reply. Good ideas - but Yes I placed the order on Dec 18th. Granger is in Iowa, I'm in Atlanta, so flying up to Iowa and driving back is a pretty inconvenient option to save $2 -$4K.
Considering my time, flight, and such.
But, I was just wondering if $4K off sticker of $73500 was good enough or if I am getting taken advantage of.

THanks,
Terry

Its not a bad deal, IF that is the selling price including all of their "Dealer Fee's". I work at a Ford Dealer and we are taking orders at MSRP but we have 0 Dealer Fee's. Also, there is a -$1,500 discount for ordering a 502A Sport or Chrome Package that is built in, dont let them pass that on as part of said discount.

I'm in ATL too, would have loved to go with Chip from Granger, he really seems to be on top of his game, but I went with Dexter from Koons in VA. Much closer return drive. Also, they offer 5% under invoice.
