We just got our 2024 F150 power boost last week. It’s used but only has around 5 K miles on it. We had shipped from another state because it was a lot cheaper so we didn’t test drive this one. When we start the truck it makes a loud, kind of high pitched sound and then it sounds like the engine turns on. I think the high pitch sound is the electric battery but it sounds unusually loud. Does anyone else’s power boost sound this way when starting? I’m trying to figure out if this is normal.

Normal. It's a speaker under the hood located near the frame on the drivers side. It is there because without it the truck is quiet when the engine is off. It also make a beeping sound in reverse.

Many folks have purchased a device that fakes the resistance of the speaker to prevent error codes and then connect the sensor side to it instead of the speaker. Some reasons people have for disconnecting that speaker is that it makes beeping sounds and can disturb people during quiet hours when camping for example.
