I found the connector behind the panel and ordered the switch and the panel that has the place do the tailgate switch.

Now I’m on the search for the correct FORScan bit to enable this switch. It has to be in there somewhere as this switch existed in my 2023 and I can see it in MY2024 with and without the pro-access tailgate.

I’m banking on it being as easy as the securicode keypad install once the correct FORScan modification is found.
I’m been trying in the bcm and ipc.
Any ideas on what to try? If we can figure this out it would be great to help anyone wanting to add this switch back in to MY25.

thanks!!

Worth noting that non-powerboost owners with an existing Start/Stop button, the harness pictured is already being used for the Start/Stop button.

yes, there is a double switch for tailgate and stop/start. So that connector should have wires for both switches. I have a powerboost.

If you have the start/stop disabled, could you remove the button and replace it with the tailgate release?

In theory I would think so. I have a powerboost, so not Stop/Start. On my 2023 I had the single button. What lookeds like the same connector and wires that others have posted with the Stop/Start and Tailgate release. This is why I believe that the connector supports different configurations of the Tailgate release and Stop/Start.

I am willing to bet that my STX lacks the actuator to release the tailgate. I have found static key mods are more challenging than trucks equipped with PTS. Definitely something I am going to dig into deeper.

Can you release your tailgate with the FOB or Keypad? If so, I would think the actuator is present.

No, sadly that isn't an option. But I dont see why I couldn't add the release actuat5, make a harness and plug it into the new switch and do a little forscan...?
